‘God Rest His Soul’
by Hank Regan
“A scene from Hank Regan’s acclaimed play God Rest His Soul, set in a small Irish kitchen.”
Cast: Seven actors, four female, three male.
Synopsis: Where there’s a will, there’s usually a dead relative. Jim and Mick, brothers of the recently departed Ned, are determined not to let the grieving widow, Mary Jo, sail off into the sunset with the spoils of her husband’s estate.
During the funeral, it emerges that Jim and Mick had put a cunning plan into motion just before poor Ned died, all to secure a more favourable will. But between wives, daughters, nieces, and cousins, their dastardly deeds begin to unravel.
Soon, even more shocking revelations come to light, and the bad brothers start to realise there were plenty of things about Ned—and his marriage—that they never truly understood.
